Kennesaw State vs. Grove City Preview

February 20, 2013

The KSU Owls will take to the field on Thursday night to face off against the Grove City Wolverines out of the CCLA. The Owls come into the game 0-4 but made tremendous strides in a losing effort against Coast Guard on Sunday.

Grove City opens its 2013 season against the Owls. The Wolverines finished 7-6 in 2012 with a 2-2 mark in conference. The Wolverines graduated 5 seniors from last season including its top 2 scorers. While on their southern swing, Grove City will also face Tennessee Wesleyan and Georgia Southern before playing two more SELC opponents next weekend when GCC plays Elon and Appalachian State.

The Owls offense got off the ground last Sunday against the Bears of Coast Guard. All the starting attackmen recorded hat tricks for the Owls, highlighted by a 7 point effort by junior Richard Greenough. KSU will again be looking to put a lot of goals in the back of the net and the Owls will be expecting another strong outing by freshman goaltender Trey Koons, who had 24 saves on Sunday.

The game will be played on Thursday at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Face off will be at 7pm; the forecast is calling for temperatures in the 40's and rain.
