Game ReviewKSU showed a lot of poise in our offensive sets and had many players (new and old) show a lot of potential. The midfielders are getting the hang of playing team defense. Todays game was a great start to our Fall 2010 Campaign. Thanks to Reinhardt for stepping up and giving us a game after Oglethorpe cancelled at the last minute.
Game ReviewThe Owls took on the Atlanta Inferno at noon for the Fall season's opening home game. Off to a slow start, it was a close 5-3 at the half with the Owls leading by only two goals. KSU came out as a different team in the second half and dominated, showing the much-needed improvement over their play in the first two quarters. The final score was 15-6 with the Owls staying on top the entire game. KSU Lacrosse would like the thank the Inferno for playing us and all the fans that came out to support KSU and the sport of lacrosse.
Game ReviewWe had a decent turn-out for the 2nd Annual Alumni Game today. Alumni who were able to show up included Jeremy Douthit, Matt Byrne, Justin Ferna, Murray Webb, Charles Roland, Jimmy Nassar, and Sean Barsin. Former assistant coach and Renaissance man, Mr. Jerry Douthit, came out to coach the alumni team who was able to keep it close and competitive the whole game. The KSU Owls would like to thank all alumni for their contributions in making the team what it is today and especially those guys that could come out and play on such short notice. Good luck to all of you guys in the future and we hope you follow the team during the upcoming Spring season.
Game ReviewThe Owls traveled to Chattanooga today for games against two teams from Tennessee. The first game against Middle Tennessee State University was a slow and steady 11-7 win and the second game against the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga was a little bit of more well-played game by the Owls, with a final score of 13-3. We had a shortened roster today due to players being sick or involved in prior engagements and many of the young Owls had opportunities to show what they're made of. We are happy with the effort today and are happy to extend our Fall 2010 record to 5-0. Many thanks to UT-C for hosting and MTSU for giving us a second game. The Owls now look forward to playing Atlanta Lacrosse Club next Saturday at Whitefield Academy with a pre-game clinic for the Whitefield middle school players.

Game ReviewThe Kennesaw State University Owls 2011 season came to an abrupt end when the Bees from SCAD won 13 - 2 in the second round of the SELC Playoff game. KSU only trailed at halftime 4 - 1 and Coach Ken Byers thought the Owls could come out swinging in the second half. 7 goals by SCAD sealed the deal and the Owls finished 14 - 4 on the 2011 season. SCAD was too deep, too talented and had the ability to control the second half of the game. Any and all adjustments just came up short for the KSU squad. SCAD played in the tournament finals then next day and won the 2011 SELC Division 2 championship. All in all the 2011 season was an outstanding run for the KSU Owls. Three players were named to the SELC first team, All-League squad. They were Attackman Scott Schulze, Midfielder Isom White and defensing Tom Mudrak. Bradley Jones was named as an Honorable Mention Attackman in the SELC. KSU head coach Ken Byers was named SELC "Coach of the Year" for 2011. This is Coach Byers second COTY award in the last seasons. The entire KSU squad would like to thank all their loyal fans for supporting team team during the season and promises another solid effort in 2012.
