Game ReviewThe Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs edged the Kennesaw State Owls 15-14 in a game that had ten lead changes. The game was a typical SELC shootout that went down to the final two minutes of play with the Bulldogs Ryan Horvath nailing the game winner with 2:02 left to play. KSU failed at critical times to contain the explosive Tennessee Wesleyan attack unit of Horvath and freshman Jacob Estrada. Scoring well for the Owls was standout attackman Scott Schulze producing 6 goals and an assist. Another key element to the Bulldog victory was the dominance of face off specialist Anthony Hunt winning 19 of 25 draws. The efforts of both teams produced a very exciting contest to the delight of the frost bitten crowd at the "Owls Nest" on the KSU campus. Games like this are an example of the high quality of lacrosse played within the SELC. The Owls wish he Tennessee Wesleyan good luck and safe travels during the 2010 season. Photos

Game ReviewThe Kennesaw State University Owls (SELC) played host to Davenport University Panthers (CCLA) in a out of conference game this afternoon. KSU jumped out to an early 2-1 lead in the first quarter but could not keep up the with the nationally ranked Panthers today. Davenport held a one goal lead at halftime but the Owls came out flat in the second half. The Panthers offense slowly and patiently cashed in on KSU mistakes in the fourth quarter. The Owls inability to put the ball on cage was a big factor in their offense crashing today. KSU would like to thank the Davenport Panthers for their competition today. We consider them and their Coach Bob Clarkson a "class act". The KSU Owls plan to rebound against Georgia State on Thursday night. This is a divisional game for both teams and is always a heated contest. Photos

Georgia State University | W 11 - 3 |
Game ReviewThe Kennesaw State University Owls faced off against cross town rival Georgia State in a divisional game on a cold, Thursday night contest. The Owls jumped out to a 4-0 first quarter lead and never looked back. The Panthers lacked numbers but did not give up during the battle. KSU's attack unit accounted for the majority of scoring. One concern for the Owls was the lack of discipline on the field accounting for over 12:30 minutes in the sin bin. KSU was able to get all their players on to the field tonight. This was something the coaches had not been able to accomplish during the team's first three games. The Owls host the Ospreys from UNF on Sunday at home. This should be a competitive game with the revamped UNF team coming to Atlanta for two games this weekend. GAME RECAP | |||||
